Maybe a Spanish SciFi movie night in honor of your fiance's home country gaining independence?

Actually, we could do that. The Ultimate Edition of Universal's Dracula includes the Mexican version of Dracula. Shot simultaneously during Bela Lugosi version on same sets, Mexican version was filmed at night while American version was day time. An all Spanish cast, a lot of the special effects shots thrown out during day/English version were perfected by night time and made it into Spanish version.
P.S. Jackass, Natalia is from Puerto Rico, not Mexico. One is a U.S. Territory in the Caribbean. The other is an independent country that runs from the southeastern tip of Texas to the Southwestern tip of California. Technically speaking, Puerto Rico has yet to be "independent".

I'm up for the Spanish Dracula. I've been advocating that we show it for nearly 2 years now.
Shall we contact the Litino organization and invite them? Maybe pair it with something about the chupracandra (sp)?

It's Latino, I believe.
And it's Chupacabra, I also believe. Know your folklore.

It's not my mythology, it's my spelling at 3 am that's the problem.

Nati and I actually started discussing Chupacabra movies yesterday, and there are several to choose from. www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=ChupacabraOur other idea was something directed by Robert Rodriguez with a Mexican theme. This would includes El Mariachi, Desperado, Once Upon A Time in Mexico, and Dusk Til Dawn (with the former being the best fit for Spanish Dracula) I'll bring all this up at tonight's meeting, I just wanted to get the idea out of my head when I had the chance.

For those of you whom were unable to attend tonight (4/25), it was suggested we arrange a theater night for May, especially since we are already arranging for the Jaws presentation a little over a week. I am posting a poll for ppl to vote for what they don't mind shelling out $10 to see. Location TBD (depending on where movie is showing) but will more than likely be Winnsong or Carmike due to proximity to AASU.
