DESCENT: Journey in the Dark

I got a new game ;D. Basically a modular version of Heroquest, up to four players and one Overlord go dungeon-delving. With equipment bought pre-mission and Town Portals through the whole dungeon though, it plays more like Diablo than Heroquest. (Written before actual game sessions. Opinion may change in the future.)

5/01 - We started playing about 9 and finished the first mission (supposed to be easiest one) about 2:30. As the guy running the thing I think I it needs to be clicked up a notch bc it was waaay too easy and there was waaay too much "Let's go to town and trade in the treasure before fighting in the next room". Power level may need to be adjusted for more advanced (such as the one's in our group) players. Might have just taken five hours bc I didn't know all the rules off the top of my head. Should go faster tonight, I hope.

Well, that was supposed to be the beginning mission, so it's likely that it was built to be low Player kill.

Other missions are probably harder... I would guess.

5/02 - Second session, fourth mission used. While definitely more fatal (three PCs died) there was no risk in the Overlord 'winning'. Started playing @ 9, stopped @ 5:30. 8.5 hours is too long to playing a board-game (unless it's Civilization: the board-game. Then it's turn one.) The session lengths take from the fun, but the game seems to be enjoyable. (Any suggestions as to how to speed things up would be appreciated. Already sticking all the Monster cards in a card sheet for quicker reference and clean-up)

Double the hit points for the monsters.
Eliminate diagonal movement.
Double movement rates while not in active combat.
